Martin N24 V8 Vantage
The Aston Martin N24 V8 Vantage is being offered by Aston
Martin as a ‘turnkey’ racecar eligible for a variety of
championships. Named after the Nurburgring 24 Hour Race
(where it debuted) they are being campaigned successfully in
the new European GT4 championship, French Rally championship
and in various national series such as the UK’s AMOC
championship.
The special exhaust system supplied with the car is
significantly lighter than the standard V8’s system but, as
it is designed to suit the most stringent scrutineers, it is
surprisingly quiet – actually quieter than the standard
system up to 5000 rpm.
QuickSilver were approached by a team running a couple of
N24s in various championships with the request to make an
exhaust system that was lighter and produced a more
appropriate racecar sound – louder. For use where the
increased volume was acceptable.
The QuickSilver Team redesigned the silencer internals
and manufactured the result using thinner-gauge material to
successfully meet these parameters.
The QuickSilver system provides a louder soundtrack
throughout with a wonderful howl at higher rpm.
A weight reduction of over 5.4 kgs over the standard unit
means handling & braking are improved even further.
The strikingly coloured car pictured is run by the Ecurie
Bagatelle team in the European GT4 Championship and owned by
David & Sandra Brooker-Carey to publicize their new
Motorsport, Equestrian, Museum and Hotel facility in the
Dordogne area of south west France. Opening in 2009 see:
