B10 vehicles began their life as BMW 535 models and were immediately transformed by the Alpina factory with numerous upgrades. The M30 engine saw the stock pistons replaced with forged Mahle units as well the addition of two Garrett T25 water-cooled turbochargers. With a Bosch adjustable boost controller mounted within the driver’s reach, the peak horsepower output is rated at 360 horsepower. Alpina modified the suspension with stiffer springs and anti-roll bars. Bilstein shocks are used on front and automatic-load leveling units by Fictel & Sachs are used in the rear. Front brake rotors were also upgraded to large 13.1-inch discs which were even larger than the 12.8-inch pieces found on the E34 M5. Alpina is a special company in the automotive world and most collectors would agree it’s vehicles are a worthwhile investment.
